Alan Tudyk portrays Serenity pilot Hoban 'Wash' Washburne in the science-fiction favorite "Firefly."

An El Paso native, Tudyk spent his early career performing on stage, including the Dallas Shakespeare Festival and various improvisation groups. He studied at Julliard and made his feature film debut in "35 Miles from Normal."

Tudyk's more recent films include the comedy hit "Knocked Up." He also appeared in "Death at a Funeral" and provided the voice for Cholly in "Ice Age" and its sequel.

On television, Tudyk had roles in "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "Capitol Law" and the miniseries "Into the West."

His other credits include "I, Robot," "Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story," "Hearts in Atlantis," "A Knight's Tale," "Wonder Boys" "28 Days" and "Patch Adams."
